About Curious Nightingale
Julie is a librarian, archivist, and educator with a background in comparative folklore, storytelling, and cultural heritage. She holds graduate degrees in Classical Chinese literature and Museum Studies, along with extensive training in library, archival, and digital curation practices. She currently works as a children’s librarian and archivist at a private school in Vancouver, British Columbia.
Julie’s work centres on story‑based learning and collective memory. She uses children’s literature, folktales, puppetry, and archival materials to help people understand themselves, their communities, and the wider world. Increasingly, her practice focuses on narrative play and its intersection with memory, identity, and the imagination.
